Right from the start, you truly loved me. I was in love with you too, and that feeling still remains. Not a single day passes without thoughts of us occupying my mind. Our initial encounters were the most wonderful days of my life, filled with endless conversations and texts. Trying to return to that moment in the past seems unattainable today.

Having those incredible memories of the times we spent together and the hope we had of being together; it's hard to believe that we don't even communicate now. I can't bring myself to go back to that place, reminiscing about the happier moments.

You put in so much effort for such a long time, and I continuously disappointed you. You never gave up, until one day you decided to move on. And when I'm alone with my thoughts, in those quiet moments, I can't help but think of you and wish I could go back in time and make different choices.

You were always the one pursuing me, while I never made any effort to search for you. I want you to understand what I felt being chased and desired, because my defense mechanisms prevented me from wanting you. Meanwhile, you were giving your all, with every fiber of your being, assuring my of you loyalty, reliability and trust worthiness, I held my distance. I want to clarify that I'm not saying you were in the wrong; I'm writing this to acknowledge that it was my mistake to avoid you.

I realize now that I wasn't as mentally strong as I believed myself to be; in fact, I was a complete coward, whereas you were the selfless gentleman. I couldn't handle the challenges of a long-distance relationship, and I'm deeply disappointed in myself because of it. You were the first and only man who showed me that love is possible, and it pains me to know that I won't experience this kind of love again. The woman who captures your heart next will be the richest bride, as she will inherit an abundance of love.
