Ed Sheeran New Hit Song ‘Shivers’

Sheeran’s hit song - "Shivers," featured in his recently released album = (Equals) released October 29, 2021. With loud background handclaps, playful strings, and cheery twangs from a guitar - "Shivers," is a pop love struck piece. With over 178,454,506 views on YouTube, this hit piece was directed by Dave Meyers, produced By Ed Sheeran, Fred Again & Steve Mac; written by Ed Sheeran, Kal Lavelle, Johnny McDaid & Steve Mac.

"Shiver" became a huge hit. According to the Billboard Hot 100, this song peaked at No. 4, remaining on the charts for 22 weeks. Also, meanwhile, on the Billboard 200, the song hit No. 1 for a week, remaining on the chart for up to 15 weeks. The music video featured actress - AnnaSophia Robb, portraying a whimsical tumultuous courtship that involves a whole lot from long waits for texts to unassuming powers, a series of dance clips, and eventually a road clash.

I wrote [“Shivers”] as soon as the Divide tour ended in a rented farm in suffolk where we had set up a studio for a couple of weeks to see what happened. it was written over the course of 3 days which is very different for me, but I felt it was too special to get wrong. It was originally meant to be the first single but I just didn’t see a world where “Bad Habits” existed if it didn’t come out in the summer. “Shivers” always felt more autumnal. In a 2021 instagram post, Sheeran shared he originally anticipated song- “Shivers” to be the lead single from the album instead of “Bad Habits.” On the other hand, he eventually believed “Bad Habits” was a song for summertime while “Shiver” was a song for the autumn season, so he put out “Bad Habits” first.

He further explained - “Shivers” took an especially long time to write, so my second official single from my 4th studio album is called ‘Shivers,’ and it’s out September 10th.” Sheeran also added, “I wrote this as soon as the Divide tour ended in a rented farm in Suffolk where we had set up a studio for a couple of weeks to see what happened.
