Born Darryl Granberry, Jr. was born in Pontiac, Michigan, October 10, 1997. He began taking videos in 2014, then in 2015, the year he graduated from high school, DDG added YouTube vlogs to his repertoire while still a student at Central Michigan University. A year later, he left school to concentrate on his YouTube and music careers. PontiacMadeDDG or simply DDG started out rapping back in 2016, coming up with singles like "Lettuce" featuring Famous Dex.

March 17, 2018, DDG released his first EP, "Take Me Serious". As his popularity grew, he signed up with Sony/Epic, collaborating with YBN Nahmir, G Herbo, to Blac Youngsta on "Run It Up" and Queen Naija on "Hold Up". Rapper DDG's first studio album, "VALEDICTORIAN," was released November 1st, 2019.

Talking about his fist single "PUSH" , he shares, “I actually made this song a minute ago. It was 2018, like August or something like that. I was in Atlanta and I heard the beat and it was fire. I was wanting to make a song that people could move to, people can dance to it. I would say like one of the biggest ones for me, my time as a kid, I would say it’s “Crank Dat” by Soulja Boy, “Teach Me How to Dougie.” I remember being in a room doing those moves. I could get up right now and do it, I know the whole dance. I wanted to have my own dance song with “Push.” Kids love it and they got that Salt-N-Peppa sample in it so the old people rock with it too. I feel like it’s so simple and it’s unforgettable at the same time. It’s like it can be carried over to other generations. Ten years from now, somebody’s going to use that same sample.”

Bailey and DDG caress one another in a seductive atmosphere created by the angelic female background voices and the visual's dark tones. An effervescent guitar loop and a sparse beat combine to create a melodic aura. DDG offers emotionally charged lines and a catchy melody that are highlighted by lovely background voices and captivating harmonies.

Halle Bailey of Chloe x Halle, who is also featured in the music video, plays the lead role. The cinematic visual that goes along with the song captures their relationship in an intriguing way. The real-life duo, under the direction of Reel Goats, gets hot and steamy in a hotel room and cooling off in different scenes under water.

Everything you'd do for the right girl if you got her is the subject of the song "If I Want You." It also chews over how you're enjoying your life up until you meet the girl you actually need.
