The song is a heartbreak anthem that delves into the messy aftermath of love’s dissolution, capturing the deep sense of confusion and emotional turmoil that arises when something once perfect falls apart. “Where’d It Go Wrong?” sees d4vd at his most vulnerable, delivering his vocals with a raw intensity that mirrors the song's aching lyrics.
d4vd (David Burke) is a genre-defying singer, songwriter, and producer from Houston, Texas. “a very contemporary kind of budding star…heartbreak-pop's unlikely gamer prince”– FADER
Born David Burke, d4vd’s rise to stardom is a testament to his hard work and unyielding creative drive. He began recording music as a teenager, using BandLab and his iPhone to create songs that blended his eclectic tastes in indie, rap, and R&B. His early tracks, including “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me”, both surpassed a billion streams and helped d4vd secure a record deal with Darkroom/Interscope before he even graduated high school.
His debut EP Petals To Thorns and follow-up project The Lost Petals showcased his genre-blending style and lyrical depth, earning him accolades such as Billboard's 21 Under 21 and Variety’s Young Hollywood honors. As d4vd continues to evolve, his music promises to push boundaries, explore new creative directions, and captivate listeners around the world.
Throughout 2024, d4vd released a steady stream of singles that showcase his versatility as an artist. From the stripped-back love song “There Goes My Baby” to the funk-driven “Feel It (From The Original Series Invincible)”, d4vd continues to evolve musically while staying true to his emotional core. His poignant ballad “My House Is Not A Home” explored themes of loneliness, while “Remember Me” brought his distinct sound to the Arcane universe, earning acclaim from fans and critics alike.

d4vd releases of his new single, “Where’d It Go Wrong?”. The 19-year-old artist’s latest track marks the beginning of a new chapter in his genre-defying career, blending alternative, indie, and R&B influences with raw, introspective lyricism.
“I’ve spent the past year recording in LA studios, doing sessions with top producers, and doing writing trips, but for ‘Where’d It Go Wrong?’, I sat back down at my house in Houston and recorded on BandLab, which I hadn’t been doing much of lately,” d4vd shared. “It really got me back in my element of how I began making music. This is one of my favorite songs that I’ve made in a long time, and it reminded me why I’ve always loved making music on my own.”
“d4vd thrives on subverting expectations and rewriting the rulebook, one DIY hit at a time,” said Variety, further cementing his status as one of the most exciting new voices in contemporary music.
This release comes on the heels of his performance at The Game Awards 2024, where d4vd joined acts like Twenty One Pilots and Royal & The Serpent in a celebration of Netflix's Arcane. d4vd performed his track “Remember Me” in a medley that was streamed across multiple platforms, showcasing his diverse musical talents to a global audience.
2024 has been a whirlwind year for the young artist, marked by his international headline “My House is Not a Home” Tour, where he sold out larger venues than ever before in cities such as Toronto, New York, London, Tokyo, and Seoul. His explosive set at White Oak Music Hall in Houston was a particularly special moment, with tickets selling out minutes after being announced.
The year also saw d4vd grace major festival stages at Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Boston Calling, and Lollapalooza, cementing his reputation as an electrifying live performer. Additionally, he opened for R&B sensation SZA at Malahide Castle in Dublin, Ireland, further expanding his global presence.
Looking ahead, d4vd's debut album is one of the most highly anticipated releases in 2025.
