BILOXI, Miss. — Coastal Mississippi is gearing up for a more extensive and family-oriented Mardi Gras season in 2026, featuring over 20 parades, parties, and special events planned from early January until Fat Tuesday along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The celebrations will take place from January 3 to February 17, 2026, covering the region's 62 miles of coastline and various coastal towns. Organizers indicate that the upcoming season will present a blend of classic Carnival festivities, live music, coastal delicacies, and activities aimed at entertaining visitors of all ages.
The season officially kicks off with Twelfth Night on January 5 at Biloxi City Hall, organized by the Gulf Coast Carnival Association. This event signifies the traditional commencement of Mardi Gras, celebrating the twelfth day after Christmas and the eve of Epiphany.
From there, parades will roll through towns across the coast, including Ocean Springs, Long Beach, Pascagoula, Waveland, Gulfport, Diamondhead, Bay St. Louis, and Pass Christian. Highlights include the Ocean Springs Night Parade on February 13, the Krewe of Gemini Parade in Gulfport on February 14, and Biloxi’s Krewe of Neptune Night Parade, also set for February 14.
Family-friendly traditions remain a focal point of the season, with events such as the Krewe of Little Rascals Parade in Pascagoula on February 7 and the Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse Lundi Gras golf cart parade in Bay St. Louis on February 16.
The Mardi Gras season concludes on February 17 with the Gulf Coast Carnival Association Mardi Gras Parade in Biloxi, often described as the largest and most prestigious Carnival event on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
“These celebrations are about community, culture, and shared experiences,” said Judy Young, CEO of Coastal Mississippi Tourism. “With more than 20 events planned in 2026, visitors can expect exciting parades, great food, and entertainment that creates lasting memories for all ages.”
Tourism officials note that the listed parades represent only part of the season’s offerings, with additional parties and special events scheduled throughout the region.
